The Importance of Being Earnest

The season continues at Minnesota State University, Mankato Theatre and Dance with the opening of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Oscar Wilde’s classic is a delight from the first cucumber sandwich, as two bachelors lead double lives in an effort to escape their mundane existence. Filled with clever one-liners, memorable characters, sharp social commentary and timeless humor, The Importance of Being Earnest is must-see. Director Heather Hamilton says of Oscar Wilde, “His work emphasizes the need for sincerity, explores vanity and hypocrisy, and generally pokes fun of inauthentic social behaviors.” This production is sure to be a delight!

Tickets are $17 regular, $15 for seniors ages 65 and older, children under 16 and groups of 15 or more; and $5 for MNSU students. In an effort to make productions more accessible to Minnesota State students, the department is inviting all Minnesota State Mankato students to the preview on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m.
