Crazy Days is back and bigger than ever for 2025! Mark your calendars for Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27, and get ready to experience a weekend packed with shopping, music, food, and fun across New Ulm. Sidewalk sales, discounts, and deals can be found at local retailers all over town. Details and hours will vary by retailer. Crazy Days is organized by the New Ulm Business & Retail Association, a committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce.
New this year, the event introduces New Ulm Polka Palooza, a two-day celebration of music and culture with live performances downtown on Friday and Saturday. Friday night features local favorites The Misfits (4-7pm) and The Bockfest Boys (8-11pm). The downtown will be transformed as an entire block will be filled with artificial turf, creating a mobile green space where locals and visitors can hang out and connect. A dance floor will be installed in front of the stage for dancing, and food trucks will be on-site.
Saturday festivities kick off with the Ping Pong Ball Drop off the roof of the Chamber Office. This annual tradition draws hundreds of shoppers to scramble for deals and prizes, including $300 worth of Chamber Dollars. Food trucks will be downtown all day Saturday, from 9am-11pm. Marktstrasse Artisan Fair, hosted by Maker Fair MN, will take place from 9am-2pm, showcasing unique handcrafted goods from local artisans. Visit the Farmers Market from 9am-12pm for Farm-To-Fun Day, featuring kids’ activities in addition to fresh produce and baked goods. Additionally, the City Hall Parking Lot will host Shop the Lot from 10am to 3pm, featuring crafters and vendors.
New Ulm Polka Palooza Saturday schedule begins at 1pm featuring KEYC’s Bandwagon, the longest-running music-themed television program in the world – celebrating over six decades of bringing live polka and old-time music to Midwest audiences. Hosted by Sean Cable and featuring music by The Nate Frederickson Band, Bandwagon will film from 1-4pm. Attendees are invited to dance and might even be featured on the show! Polka lessons will be offered and guests are encouraged to wear lederhosen or dirndls. Music continues the rest of the day and into the evening – concluding with the Tanner Stark Band from 7-11pm, hosted by the B&L Bar.
Another exciting new addition to New Ulm Crazy Days is Sippin’ Southern Minnesota hosted by the Friends of the Brown County Free Fair. This tasting event will take place downtown from 4-8pm and feature samples from Southern MN breweries, wineries and distilleries. Passes can be purchased on site for $20.
It’s a busy weekend in New Ulm! Live music, demonstrations, and other activities are happening all around town, Friday through Sunday.
