These Jello Cookies came from my aunt – my mom’s sister. I don’t know how old I was when we got this recipe, but I always remember making them every year. Now we bake them with my kids.

They always add a nice splash of color to the cookie platter. We sometimes make both red and green!

Jello Cookies

Ingredients

  • 4 C flour
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1 1/2 C butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 3oz package of Jello – any flavor
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla

Directions

  • Cream softened butter gradually
  • Add sugar and jello – mix well
  • Add baking powder
  • Add egg and vanilla – mix well
  • Gradually add flour mixing well after each addition until smooth
  • Make dough balls and press them criss-cross with a fork
  • Sprinkle with colored sugar
  • Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes until golden brown on edges
