We are excited to introduce our 146 Youth Scholarship Recipients! Students in grades 7-12 were awarded $300 and students in grades 3-6 were awarded $200, for a total of $37,100. They will be using their scholarships to take lessons in a variety of artistic mediums including dance, music (instrumental and vocal), theater, and visual art.

Small Arts Project & School Arts Project Grantees:
2B (Teuby) Continued, $2,500
They will present a dueling piano show by Rock It Man Entertainment during Arlington’s Arli-Dazzle celebration on December 2nd. Funds will be used for artist fees. More information!
Adaptive Recreational Services, $1,130
They will host adaptive pottery classes for teens and adults with disabilities, once a month during 2024 in New Ulm. Funds will be used for artist fees, salaries, and supplies. More information!
Le Sueur-Henderson Elementary/Park Elementary, $2,500
They will host an artist in residency with BIPOC artist Alexandra Beaumount in December. Alexandra will work with students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade on a fiber project titled “Shape Parade”. The banners created will be displayed at the winter concert on December 15th. Funds will be used for artist fees and travel, and supplies.
Martin Luther College, New Ulm, $2,130
They will host a professional voice recital by Jonathan Laabs, Kathryn Wurster, Kathryn Carlovsky, and Laura Stelljes performing music never performing on the MLC campus on January 27, 2024. Funds will be used for artist fees, a sound technician, and publicity. More information!
TEAM Academy, Waseca, $2,000
They will take all students in their Kindergarten through 6th grade school to the Children’s Theater in Minneapolis to see the musical “A Year with Frog & Toad”. Funds will be used for ticket costs and transportation.
Waseca Latino Cultural Celebration, $2,200
They will host the Mariachi America band from St. Paul to perform Mariachi music during the ethnic celebration on December 9th. Funds will be used for artist fees.
Upcoming PLRAC Application Deadlines:
January 1st – Arts and Cultural Heritage Grants **New earlier deadline
Organizations with year-round programming can apply for up to $9,000. Schools and Arts Festivals can apply for up to $6,000. These funds come from Minnesota’s Legacy Amendment. Examples include art and music festivals, community choirs, dance performances, literary readings, instrumental and vocal music concerts, theater productions, visual art classes and exhibitions, murals, etc.
Arts and Cultural Heritage Information
Small Arts Project and Schools arts Project Grants
Non-profit arts organizations, community groups, or public organizations producing or sponsoring arts activities for their community are eligible for the Small Arts Project Grant of up to $2,500. Examples include arts and music festivals, community bands and choirs, theatre events, dance performances, literary readings, instrumental and vocal music concerts, theater productions, visual art exhibitions and classes, etc.
School Arts Project Grants are for public and private schools K–12 of up to $2,500 are available to fund residencies, live art performances, mini-workshops, or related field trips.
The Small Arts Project and School Arts Project programs are flexible with monthly deadlines, the 1st of each month.
