Event Details

Two recitals will celebrate classical excellence and emerging young talent, while a student art competition will be featured alongside both events.

The first recital on June 7 presents a world-class ensemble with Maureen Nelson (violin), Richard Belcher (cello), and Bethel Balge (piano) performing Mozart’s Piano Trio in C Major, K. 548 and Dvořák’s Piano Trio in F Minor, Op. 65. Both showcase not only the compositional mastery of their composers but also reflect the spirit of their lives in two cultural capitals—Vienna and Prague. Mozart’s Trio expresses the heart of classical refinement and Dvořák’s Trio exudes the folkloric passion of his Slavic soul.

The second recital on June 8th highlights extraordinary young musicians from across the region, with Christian Garner on trumpet, Harold Fang on piano, Karl Davis on cello, and Vladimir Tsiper on violin. This recital celebrates emerging talent and invites audiences to support the next generation of classical artists.

Running in conjunction with both concerts is the Student Art Competition, featuring original works of art by local students in grades 9–12. Attendees can view and bid on these works throughout the weekend. Winning students will receive scholarships and prize money. Cash awards are also granted to their mentors and school art programs. The competition emphasizes ProMusica’s commitment to nurturing young artists and supporting arts education in the community.
