The Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota is excited to invite families to a special Fire Safety Education Day.

This free event offers hands-on learning experiences, including exploring fire trucks, interacting with Sparky the Fire Safety Dog, and participating in safety demonstrations like the Smoke Simulator House and Fire Extinguisher Simulations. Children can also enjoy a Firefighter Relay Race and receive exciting giveaways.

This is a perfect opportunity for kids to learn about fire prevention while having a blast. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled day of learning and adventure!

Community members are invited to a free Opioid & Fentanyl Crisis Awareness event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center’s Ellerbe Room. Doors open at 5 p.m. with resources available.

No registration is required for this free event.

The event is an initiative by Greater Mankato Area United Way’s Substance Use Disorder Advocacy Committee.

• Matt DuRose, Mankato Department of Public Safety
• Kara Richardson, Former Correctional Officer
• Katie Bergemann, Opioid Survivor

Topics include the history of opioid and fentanyl in our communities; signs and symptoms of substance use disorder; personal stories; and community resources.

Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

Artists are hosted by businesses or in their own studios throughout Saint Peter and Kasota.
