YMCA Executive Director John Kind Sets Retirement Date

    A national search for the next YMCA CEO will begin soon

    MANKATO – With much gratitude, the Mankato Family YMCA announces the planned retirement of YMCA Executive Director John Kind in the summer of 2023. Kind has served a successful 14 years at the Y.

    “I have thoroughly enjoyed 14 years of serving this wonderful organization,” said John Kind. “My sincere thanks goes out to the wonderful staff, volunteers and members who have made every day an adventure and a joy. I look forward to watching the YMCA grow and thrive with a new Executive Director.”

    Matt DuRose, current YMCA Board President said, “John has been an incredible asset to the YMCA organization and the Mankato community for the last 14 years. On behalf of the current and past directors of the board, I would like to thank John for his leadership and commitment to the community during this tenure as Executive Director. I look forward to working with the community to identify the next Executive Director of the Mankato Family YMCA.”

    The Board of Directors is in the process of assembling a CEO search committee that will conduct a national search led by a Y-USA Search Specialist. More information, along with the application, will soon be available on the Y’s website at https://mankatoymca.org.
