Mankato, MN – The Mankato Family YMCA Brother/Sister Mentoring Program recently received a $30,000.00 grant from the Otto Bremer Trust which will help provide mentoring opportunities for youth and families in the Mankato area.
“We are grateful for the grant from Otto Bremer Trust,” said Tom Schueneman, Director of Social Responsibility. “With these funds, we are able to continue this critical community work and provide opportunities for the youth we serve.”
Mentoring impacts our schools, neighborhoods, workplace and community for the better. It has the possibility to change a young person’s life.
The Mentoring Program at the YMCA includes the Brother/Sister Program and School-Based Mentoring. The goal is to build trusted relationships between the mentor and mentee, where confidence and hope becomes a reality.
