Mankato, MN— “We are pleased to announce the expansion of Weggy’s On Campus and the addition of Krusty’s Donuts to the University Square Mall lineup” said Alan Cole, General Manager at University Square Mall. “It’s exciting to get a new unique offering such as Krusty’s Donuts.”
“You didn’t need to be a brain surgeon to see that we need more seating at Weggy’s On Campus, especially on weekends. Our expansion will increase our seating by 35%. The new space will also be available to host meeting, parties, and special events.” Said Steve Wegman, Owner of Weggy’s On Campus and Krusty’s Donuts. “The main reason we decided to do the Weggy’s expansion is because we wanted to open up a donut shop. I’d been kicking around the idea in my head for a while. I didn’t just want any donut shop, it had to be fun, unique, and especially good!! So Krusty’s Donuts was created. We will offer fresh, made from scratch donuts. We will offer everything from homemade glazed donuts that will melt in your mouth, to maple donuts topped with fresh cooked bacon. This will be the third expansion that we have done at University Square since we opened Weggy’s On Campus 6 years ago. Weggy’s is definitely growing in the right direction. We have so many loyal customers that have become friends over the years!! Without them and the strong relationships that we have built with Minnesota State University, Mankato right across the street, none of this would be possible.”
University Square Mall is a mixed-use development located directly across the street from Minnesota State University, Mankato. It is on the southeast end of campus by many of the sports facilities such as the Taylor Center and Bresnan Arena, Myers Field House, Blakeslee Field, Bowyer Field and the new Sports Dome.
The mall is anchored by AMC Theaters and offers a great mix local and national tenants. Other recent additions include Kato Pizzeria, Wakia’s Asian Fusion and OneUp Nutrition.
