The Boy in Blue Memorial committee announces the date for the 8th annual Civil War Symposium. The symposium will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Morson-Ario-Strand VFW Post 950, 1900 No. Riverfront Drive in Mankato.
The theme for this symposium is: “Setting the Stage for War: 1860.” Special guest speaker is Dr. Nancy Koester, author of “Harriet Beecher Stowe: A Spiritual Life,” and winner of the Minnesota Book Award. There will be presentations, costumed interpreters, storytelling and interactive exhibits, panel discussions, Civil War era music, books and authors, lunch and more.
Deadline for advance registration is March 20, 2020. Advance registration is required for lunch.
