    March 24th, 2020

MANKATO – Minnesota State University, Mankato and the Department of Theatre and Dance are committed to taking any steps necessary to protect the health and safety of our audience and students. To limit the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to cancel the remaining performances this semester. This includes:

    • A Doll’s House, Part 2: March 24, 26, 28
    • Going to See the Elephant: March 25, 27, 29
    • Mamma Mia!: April 9-19
    • Black Comedy:April 22-25
    • Flying Foot Forum’s French Twist: April 25
    • The Spring Dance Concert, May 1 & 2

Ticket-holding patrons can request a refund or a donation tax receipt by filling out the refund request form at MSUTheatre.com and following the links for purchase tickets.

The 54th season of Highland Summer Theatre has also been cancelled as a safety precaution. In a letter to students, Theatre and Dance Department Chair Paul J. Hustoles wrote, “There is no way that this COVID-19 curse is going to be over in May and there is no way that I want to put you or our audience through all the work and excitement of putting on a season, only to pull it at the last minute due to heath concerns. My deepest apologies to all of the wonderful talent that was all set to do their typically brilliant work this summer.”

The Theatre and Dance Department will soon announce its 2020-2021 Season—the show(s) will go on! And the plan includes an April 2021 grand finale of…Mamma Mia!
