GreenSeam 2021 Business Award & Hall of Fame Honorees Announced

    MANKATO, MN  – GreenSeam is excited to announce the 2021 honorees that will be recognized at the Greater Mankato Awards & Hall of Fame on November 9 this year. This premier event is a time where GreenSeam, along with Greater Mankato Growth, Visit Mankato, and City Center Partnership, honor outstanding businesses, professionals, and organizations within the GreenSeam.

    Greater Mankato Business Awards & Hall of Fame, presented by Abdo, Eick & Myers, LLP, will be held in a hybrid format on November 9, 2021 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato and online*.     Seamed in Success Award Honoree: Dr. Shane Bowyer, Assistant Professor of Management, Director of AgriBusiness & Food Innovation Program, Minnesota State University, Mankato

    Over the past number of years, Dr. Bowyer has found a niche in agribusiness and has become a credible and trusted educational resource. He helps promote ag by using his experience, leadership, and extensive network to bring together students, industry, and other professionals across southern Minnesota and beyond. Dr. Bowyer took the lead in bringing an agribusiness and food innovation program to Minnesota State University, Mankato and has tremendously helped GreenSeam with its State of Ag Report, as well as many other projects and major milestones for the organization.

    The Seamed in Success Award honors and outstanding business, organization, community, or individual which has made a large impact and added value to the community and region. This award recognizes those who have highlighted the importance of agriculture, with an emphasis on rural vitality building upon our agricultural roots.

    Growing in the GreenSeam Award Honoree: Clean Plus, Inc. (George & Matt Coy)

    Clean Plus, Inc. (CPI) is a privately held, family-owned corporation established in 1982 to market Clean Plus Hand Soap, with manufacturing operations in West Concord, MN from 1987. Over the years, Clean Plus has earned a reputation as one of the highest quality and most widely used hand cleaners in the U.S. and Canadian markets. CPI manufactures absorbents for recovery of oil, fuel, solvents, and other hazardous liquids, and more, and is nationally and internationally known for Clean Plus sanitizer, an 82% ethanol solution, oil absorbent pads made from corn stalks, and soaps, that tie back to agriculture as well, through using beef tallow as one of the ingredients. The Coy family is dedicated to their community as they provide high quality, good paying jobs and are known for their sound and ethical business practice.

    The Growing in the GreenSeam Award honors an outstanding business that has recently planted its seed in the GreenSeam region. Each year, one remarkable new business is recognized for their innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and contribution to our vibrant community.
