Join State Street Theater for the production of “Charlotte’s Web” with everyone’s favorite characters, Fern, Wilbur, and Charlotte. Auditions will take place on Monday, September 14, and Thursday, September 17, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 19, from 9:30-11:00 a.m.

The Children’s Literature Association named this “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some pig.” It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign, which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship.

We have roles available for ages 16 and up. All interested are encouraged to audition for the play. First-time actors are warmly encouraged and welcome. Auditions will be a cold read from the script. Open auditions at the State Street Theater Co., 1 N. State Street, enter at Washington Street parking lot, backstage door. Rehearsals will take place from September to November.

Performances will be held Friday through Sunday, November 20-22, 2020. For more information, please email statestreettheater@gmail.com, or call 507-359-9990.

Produced by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. The production is also made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
