Area patrons hailed last year’s presentation of “Divas through the Decades” a huge success and requested they be brought back. And State Street Theater is pleased to oblige, this time with a whole new show and repertoire, the “Broadway Divas!” They will perform Friday, November 1, starting with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. with desserts and refreshments, followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. The ticket includes admission to the concert and a dessert bar. A cash bar will be available, including a pre-holiday shopping opener-themed specialty drink, the “Merry Martini!”
Patrons can expect to musically walk the Great White Way of Broadway—a street in New York City; a place where dreams are born and stars are made. Some of the greatest Broadway stars of all time include these Divas of Broadway: Jennifer Holliday, Ethel Merman, Gwen Verdon, Shirley MacLaine, Chita Rivera, Betty Buckley, Elaine Page, Mary Martin and more. In Divas on Broadway, some new divas put their spin on songs made famous by some of the greatest leading ladies ever—songs from “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Cabaret,” and “Hairspray” are among those featured in this fast-paced, exciting tribute to Broadway Musical Theatre.
