Arts Center To Host “Midlife Recital” September 4, Minnesota Square Park Pavilion

    SAINT PETER, MINN. – First-time soloists and experienced musicians alike make up the cast of the “Midlife Recital,” a free, sixteen-song rock show on Sunday, September 4, at 4:00 p.m. in St. Peter’s Minnesota Square Park Pavilion.

    The latest project of the Arts Center of Saint Peter’s community music ensemble known as Pageant & Singalong Nation, the show includes Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” with lead vocals by Gretchen Hildebrandt of St. Peter; Prince’s “Purple Rain,” with lead vocals by Rachel Maccabee of Mankato; Abba’s “The Winner Takes it All” with lead vocals by Anja Scheidel of Mankato; and the KMSU listener favorite “Like A Ship (Without A Sail)” by T.L. Barrett and the Youth for Christ Choir, with lead vocals by Cara Lucille of North Mankato, all backed by the five- piece Pageant & Singalong Nation Band. Master of Ceremonies Ben Findley will give brief introductions, and a printed program will provide essential sing-along lyrics.

    Music begins at 4:00 p.m. and concludes by 6:00 p.m. Admission is free, with donations to the Arts Center encouraged. Guests are required to bring their own seating. Coolers are permitted; no glass bottles. In the case of inclement weather, the show will be canceled. Cancellation announcements will be posted via Facebook by the Arts Center and City of Saint Peter.
