MANKATO, Minn.—The Mankato Marathon is seeking one new benefactor to round out the 2022 Charities Program.
Interested local charities can find an application at mankatomarathon.com/charities/charities. Applications are due November 22.
Through the Mankato Marathon Charities Program, five chosen qualifying 501(c)(3) charities recruit up to four Champion Runners who will fundraise on its behalf and run in one of the Mankato Marathon races including the Full Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, 10K or 5K. Champion Runners will receive a free race registration and Champion Runner t-shirt with the expectation that they raise a minimum of $500 for his or her respective charity. In 2021, the Mankato Marathon Charity Program raised $12,440 for its five chosen local charities.
In addition to the Champion Runners’ efforts, the Mankato Marathon helps raise additional donations by allowing runners to make donations through online registrations. Charities can benefit through media and website exposure and other promotional mentions provided by the Mankato Marathon.
The charity’s application will be reviewed by a selection committee, and charities will be selected and announced prior to race registration opening January 1, 2022.
