Saturday

Saturday night Mankato has a few music highlights you won’t want to miss! Local singer-songwriter, Ian Hilmer will be at LocALE Brewery at 7 pm. Ian has been writing and recording songs for over 25 years and was one of the first musicians I shared a show with when I moved to town! He has also played shows with some of these names you may recognize: Mason Jennings, Jonny Lang, Nazareth, Shawn Colvin, Bret Michaels, Dangerous Toys, and Nicolas David.

It’ll be getting all cozy toasty at The Gold Mine as they host slide guitarist Mike Munson at 7:30 pm. Munson’s icy slide guitar creates heavy and deep blues from up north. I’ve heard that Mike’s irresistible swagger and keen sense of musical style will warm you right up! $20

Of course, you can always roll back on down to the WineCafe to catch local band duo Ben Scruggs and Chris Bertrand, playing at 8pm.

So, it may be a wee bit chilly, but there is plenty opportunity to warm your creative brain this weekend! Let Mankato inspire you and keep you Minnesota warm!
