Event Details

The Arts Center of Saint Peter is the final stop for the Wood Engravers’ Network Third Triennial, a traveling juried exhibition featuring sixty-four (64) engravings by thirty-seven (37) artists from the United States, Canada, Ireland and Belgium, on display at the Arts Center November 8 – December 29, 2019.

Wood engraving is a relief printmaking process where an original drawing is cut into the surface of an end-grain wood block and then inked and printed to create a reflected image of the cut block. The prints are considered multiple originals created in limited editions — not reproductions or digital creations — offering an affordable entry into collecting original art works.

Among the artists is Joel Moline of St. Peter.

The Wood Engravers’ Network formed in 1994 to foster education and create a resource for wood engravers and the practice of wood engraving. The group publishes a biannual journal, holds an annual conference, maintains a website and social media presence, as well as sponsoring exhibits, group projects and an ongoing print exchange for members.

The public is invited to the opening reception for the exhibition on Saturday, November 9, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

The Arts Center’s galleries are free, wheelchair-accessible. Summer gallery hours are Wednesday though Friday 1-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Sunday 1-5 p.m.
