Event Details

Mixed media portraits and other work by artist Gregory T. Wilkins will fill the art gallery of the Centennial Student Union on the campus of Minnesota State Mankato June 7 through August 6, the first solo exhibition of Wilkins’ series Black Lives Matter.

The Centennial Student Union art gallery is free, wheelchair-accessible, and open to the public Monday – Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

“This exhibit is about racism and oppression, lynching and murder, as well as healing and conversations our nation is having about rights and privileges. As Americans, we must acknowledge our historical past and work toward a more inclusive and equitable future. Our history is a reminder that as Americans we have a long way to go before we can truly honor the U.S Declaration of Independence – Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. May we never forget our past as we continue to reach toward a more perfect union.”
