Wood Engravers’ Network Fourth Triennial Exhibition

Saint Peter is the final stop for the Wood Engravers’ Fourth Triennial, a traveling juried exhibition featuring sixty-five (65) contemporary relief engravings by artists from Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, England, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Taiwan, Ukraine, and the United States, on display November 10-December 23 at the Arts Center of Saint Peter.

Wood engraving is a unique mash-up of metal engraving and relief printing where an original drawing is cut into the surface of an endgrain wood block with the same tools used by metal engravers (burins). The cut block is inked and pressure is applied to transfer ink to paper as a mirror reflected image. Wood Engravers Network (WEN) prints are multiple originals created in limited editions — not reproductions or digital creations — offering an affordable entry into collecting original and unique works of art.

The Arts Center’s galleries are free, wheelchair-accessible, and open to the public Wednesdays-Fridays 1:00-5:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:00-5:00 p.m. The Arts Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, (November 23), and December 24-January 9, resuming regular hours on Wednesday, January 10.
