Antarctica is sometimes called “the last great wilderness.” Antarctica and the Southern Ocean are home to iconic megafaunas like whales, penguins, and seals; this cold and majestic ecosystem also plays a vital role in regulating climate and driving ocean currents that affect weather patterns around the world.
