More than fifty mixed media pieces by St. Peter-based Michael Callahan will be on display in Through Line, Callahan’s debut solo exhibition.
Callahan, whose studio is housed in the Arts Center, paints in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media. Through Line is a body of work created over the past two years, inspired by an interest in “wobbly lines, textural passages completely beyond my control, and subject matters that range wildly in their clarity of form,” said Callahan in his artist’s statement.
Callahan is also a nationally touring comedy club comedian and corporate magician. He created the mixed media cover art for Stand Up! Records recording artist Tim Harmston’s comedy album, The Whim of Tim.
The Arts Center’s galleries are free, wheelchair-accessible, and open to the public Wednesdays-Fridays 1:00-5:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:00-5:00 p.m.
