This presentation will provide an opportunity to view dementia in a new way – a way that opens up the real and untapped capacity of individuals living with dementia. When we begin to understand dementia in a way that is different than most of us have been conditioned, we discover the enormous impact each of us can bring toward the well-being of those affected by dementia.
Jodi Melius, RN, is a Nurse Study Coordinator at the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. She facilitates caregiver support groups and presents education for professionals, community stakeholders, and families as it relates to understanding dementia and the diseases that cause it, with a primary goal of decreasing the stigma that is associated with dementia and promoting well-being.
