Mary’s Fairy Tale
June 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
One event on June 25th, 2022 at 2:00 pm
Open Arts Minnesota, Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato, Centenary United Methodist Church Social Justice Theatre, and Minnesota State University, Mankato’s LitReach Program are pleased to present “Mary’s Fairy Tale”.
This play was written by Aktion Club actor Mary Templin. It is a story that follows her from childhood when she entered the Faribault State Hospital and her eventual release. After this, Mary moved to Mankato, met the love of her life Gary and got married. The play is scheduled for June 24th at 7:00 PM and June 25th at 2 p.m.
This delightful play will cause you to stop and think about life for people who lived in institutions. It will also bring you joy when Mary eventually finds love and gets married.
Saturday, June 25th will offer ASL and be sensory-friendly. We will also offer a talk-back moderated by Centenary’s Justice/Advocacy Team on June 25th so audience members can ask questions of the cast.
The show will be staged at Centenary United Methodist Church. Admission is free. Donations are gladly accepted for Centenary’s Holy Grounds mission work and The Olmstead Academy’s Community Integration Project.
