Mankato Makerspace | Woodshop 101: Core Power Tool Safety

May 10 @ 5:30 pm

Hobby, Craft & Making | Woodworking

From fixing simple shelves to creating beautiful complex furniture, woodworking skills are handy to have. This is a required woodshop safety course. Learned skills are necessary before you can use the Wood Shop machines/electric tools independently. Register here.

This course covers the basic functionality and use of the core power tools in any woodshop: jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, and compound miter saw.

Students should come to the class with closed-toe shoes and long pants. Avoid loose clothing, long sleeves, gloves, and loose jewelry. The student material fee includes take-away PPE (basic ear protection, a dust mask, and safety glasses).
