Mankato Makerspace | Intro to Metalsmithing: Jewelry 101

In this introductory class, you will begin by working in copper or brass sheet metal. You’ll learn how to cut out shapes, how to pierce cut, different ways to texture metal, filing, and create a bale or hanging mechanism. The tools you will become familiar with are a hand coping saw, bench pin, a drill, needle and regular metal files, various plyers, texturing applications, and attaching your piece to a leather necklace. You will have a finished piece to take home. All supplies are provided. Register here.
