Historical Brickyard Trail Loop by Bicycle

Last year, North Mankato put up new trail system maps AND road signage. We are going to highlight the Brickyard Trail Loop by riding it and also learning a little bit about history with stops along this historical loop.

The brickyard was started back in 1886 by A.L. Wheeler and O.E. Bennett. Unfortunately in 1905, Wheeler and Bennett closed their North Mankato brickyard, and a few years later, the city bought the land for what is today known as Wheeler Park.

Families, pump up the bike tires and strap on the helmets, and come ride as we explore North Mankato history on a bicycle. We will also be pointing out the new trail system maps where they are located in town so you can do more adventures on your own all year long.
