Beginner Snowshoe Hike

January 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Outdoors | Snowshoeing

Join Scott Kudelka, Minneopa Area Naturalist to learn about snowshoeing and some practical advice on using snowshoes.

We will take an hour and a half hike on the park’s trails with stops to talk about the history of snowshoeing the unique characteristics of Minneopa, and animal life in the winter.

If there isn’t enough snow this will become a hike. Please meet at the Group Campground on the campground side of the park.

Snowshoeing is probably the most accessible and easiest of all winter sports. Basically, if you can walk, you can snowshoe. People have been using some form of snowshoes or skis to move across a snow-covered landscape for at least 6,000 years.
