Alaena Klages Art Opening

Join us on March 10th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Alaena Klages, ARTrageous Mankato’s Artist of the month’s opening show.
Mankato-based creative, Alaena Klages, has been exploring the world of acrylic paint on canvas for the last six months. Primarily a clothing designer Alaena was looking for a new medium to express herself. This collection of paintings came together while listening to the album “Waiting to Spill” by The Backseat Lovers and was inspired by visions seen during the practice of meditation. Two things brought comfort to Alaena in a challenging time of uncomfortable life changes.
Growing up in a very artistic household Alaena has always practiced a form of creative expression. Photography, dance, and sketching to name a few. Her career is in the clothing design industry. Working with colors and textures to provoke an emotion from the viewer is her favorite part of the design. That same emotional tug is what has led her to abstract acrylic paintings. This is her first public show and she hopes for more chances to share new work and occupy space in the wonderful Mankato art community.
