We know how hungry folks are for deeper, more generous dialogue about the climate crisis, and to circle up in ways that connect, nourish, and seed action. All We Can Save Circles are designed to meet those needs, using the book as our grounding and jumping-off point. This kind of work is vital to grow and strengthen any movement for social change. Register here.
We invite you to join the Living Earth Center in this virtual 10-week circle to discuss, connect, cultivate, and empower. Each Circle is a self-organized small group committed to reading the book together over the course of 10 meetings. The aim is to foster meaningful conversation and allow every voice to be heard
Living Earth Center will create an optional Facebook group for participants to meet and connect outside of meeting times and will lightly facilitate and guide the weekly discussions. Can’t make it one week? No problem! You can catch the next one. The event is free of charge! However, donations are warmly accepted to help pay for overhead as well as sponsor a book for someone who cannot afford one or who simply cannot access it.
Where to get your books:
- Your local library
- Purchase through independent book stores in your area.
- Online at Bookshop
- If you must use Amazon, please consider listing Living Earth Center as your amazon smile charity.
- Nobody will be turned away for the inability to purchase the book. If you need a book, please let us know so that we can lend you a copy from our library. If you need to borrow a book, please let us know at least one week in advance.

Lyme disease, which is spread by infected blacklegged (deer) ticks, is the most common vector-borne illness in the United States. The risk of getting Lyme disease is much higher than most people recognize and the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control estimates that 476,000 new cases of Lyme disease occur each year in the U.S. Dorian will provide basic information about Lyme disease including how people become infected, potential effects of the infection, and steps people can take to avoid being infected.

This is a fun course to help make a sculpture of your choosing. Pick one of our prefab projects that get welded together OR go freestyle and make something that is all your own. Discover the creative process of metal. Whether you’re a novice or have some skills already, make some awesome metal yard art or rustic home decor with Dustin Swiers! Register here.
Safety comes first so wear appropriate clothing including closed-toe shoes, work clothes that can get dirty or singed, preferably jeans and a long sleeve 100% cotton shirt (synthetic fabrics can be flammable), and please put your hair up.
You will choose one of our prefab metal projects or discuss ideas of a unique sculptural project with Dustin. You’ll have a quick overview of safety and welding techniques and then you will make your sign or project functional by welding on a post, stand, or hangers (your project could become a garden decoration, mailbox adornment, or wall-mounted sign).

Let the Sparks Fly! This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience and personal instruction on the basics of MIG and Arc welding. Welding is such a versatile skill to have and comes in handy when something needs to be fixed, fabricated or your creativity kicks in. We are excited to show you how to get started and help you get the basics under your belt so you can move on to those long-awaited projects. Register here.
Safety comes first so wear appropriate clothing including closed-toe shoes, work clothes that can get dirty or singed, preferably jeans and a long sleeve 100% cotton shirt (synthetic fabrics can be flammable), and please put your hair up.
In this session you will be learning MIG and Arc welding: welding safety, equipment use, proper preparation, hands-on practice of various types of welding joint techniques, as well as what quality welds should look like and how to trouble-shoot. This workshop is set up as a first-time experience and practice session (there will be no specific project that you will be taking home at the end of this lesson). This is a REQUIRED METAL SHOP SAFETY COURSE. Learned skills are necessary before you can use the Metal Shop independently.
