Park and Recreation Month in Saint Peter

    June 27th, 2025

Saint Peter — This July, join the City of Saint Peter for Park and Recreation Month, as we celebrate how our community is stronger, more vibrant and more resilient because of our recreation programs.

Saint Peter Recreation and Leisure Services is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to Play in the Park on Wednesdays in July from 9 a.m. to noon starting July 2. This series of events will include a live radio broadcast by HOT 96.7 FM on July 2, special story times with Saint Peter Public Library on July 9, Exploration Recreation activities and bounce houses, fruit donated by Family Fresh Market and more. Nicollet County Health and Human Services will host a Teddy Bear Clinic on July 23. Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck will also be in the park on select days.

Park and Recreation Month is a chance to celebrate the many ways parks, public spaces, and events enrich lives in Saint Peter, says John W. Stutzman, Recreation and Leisure Services Director. From maintaining safe, welcoming parks and the community’s recreational facilities to offering programs that support youth development, community connection, active lifestyles, library services, and meaningful activities for older adults. Our staff takes pride in providing opportunities that help shape a stronger, more connected community.

NRPA and Saint Peter Recreation and Leisure Services encourages everyone who supports parks and recreation to post why their community programs are important to them on social media with #STPBuildTogetherPlayTogether.
