Exhibit opens Friday, September 13
In honor of the Mankato Area Foundation’s 50th anniversary, the Foundation partnered with local photographer Josh Madson to expand the reach of his Community Collage by capturing portraits of thousands of individuals and groups from across the community.
Photos from the free, two-minute photo sessions will be part of a large-scale, immersive exhibit featuring 5,000+ photos of individuals, families, coworkers, friends and colleagues all from the Greater Mankato area.
The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, opens Friday, September 13 with a reception from 2-5:00 p.m. at Madison East Center, 1400 Madison Avenue Mankato.
Nancy Zallek, President and CEO of the Foundation said one of the goals of supporting the Collage was to be as inclusive as possible, providing opportunities for the photo shoots at a variety of locations and times in the past several months.
“As the Mankato Area Foundation celebrates 50 years of shaping our region for good, we are thrilled to help capture what we know makes this community so special, and that’s the people,” said Zallek. “Every person in this incredible exhibit helps create a visual celebration of what makes this a remarkable place to live, play and work.”
After the opening, the exhibit will open during regular Madison East Center hours.
